Purification of ginsenoside glycosidase-BglPm using ITC of Elastin like protein-tagged system

ABSTRACT

Rare ginsenosides are known to have many medicinal values such as anti-tumor and anti-oxidant activity. Rare ginsenosides can be obtained by hydrolyzing saponin glycosides in ginseng with ginsenoside glycosidase. Glycosidases with high purity and activity are necessary to increase the efficiency of saponin conversion. A good example of effective purification is to utilize the elastin-like polypeptide (ELP) system. This purification method has the advantages of high purity, low cost and simple operation. In this study, we optimized the purification conditions of BglPm- ELP by the inverse transition cycle (ITC) method. In addition, we also investigated the enzymatic characteristics of the enzyme.
